Market update

Something we are increasingly helping our clients with is refinancing; historically, investors in London property have enjoyed extensive capital appreciation. This is unlikely to be true in the next few years so it’s necessary to find other ways to make your assets work for you.

Islay Robinson, Chief Executive Officer of Enness, comments: “The UK’s luxury property market has faced a challenging few years, but savvy investors will always find ways to make the most of their high-value assets. Many of our high net worth clients are looking to refinance their unencumbered properties, freeing up funds for more profitable investments elsewhere.

“One way of doing this is refinancing to release equity to invest in other, higher-yielding assets. At the end of 2017, many of our overseas clients looked to begin this process.

“There are also excellent opportunities when it comes to refinancing. Our HNW clients across the world hold high value assets in the UK, many of which are not performing as well as they once did in terms of yields or capital growth.

“With interest rates still comparably lower than years gone by it makes sense to refinance onto a lower rate, and free up liquidity for other investments – for example, we’re working with clients who are raising cash to invest in higher yielding markets such as, property in other UK cities or Europe, commercial developments, and other more lucrative investment opportunities.”
